Applies to: Makko > Art Studio (Collections)

Prerequisites: Makko account; at least one collection created in Art Studio

    Time to complete: 5-10 minutes

    Overview

Use a collection to generate a character sprite from a text prompt and optional reference images, produce a front/side/back reference sheet, and jump straight into the animation workspace.

    Steps

    1. Open your collection

In the header, click Art Studio > Collections. Open an existing collection or create a new one with + Collection.

Scroll down to the Game Assets section. Click the Character button to start generating a new character for your collection.

    2. Upload reference images and write a prompt

On the Generate character page you can optionally upload reference images on the left (up to 3). These guide the AI toward your desired style.

In the prompt field, describe the character you want (e.g. "A brave knight in silver armor with a flowing red cape"). Choose an art style and adjust settings as needed.

    3. Generate the character sprite

Click Generate to create your character sprite. The result appears below the prompt along with generation details (art style, view angle, and cost).

You can refine your prompt or adjust settings and regenerate until you are happy with the result.

    4. Generate a reference sheet

After generating a character sprite, a Character reference sheet dialog appears. It shows your reference image on the left with empty slots for Front, Side, and Back views.

Click Generate to fill in all views. This costs additional credits.

Once complete, all four views (Reference, Front, Side, Back) are shown. Enter a Name for your character and click Save.

    5. Animate your character

After saving, the dialog updates with an Animate button. Click it to navigate directly to the animation workspace.

You land on the Character Detail page with the Animations panel on the right. Click + Create Animation to start building animations from your reference sheet.
