Road to Launch: New Features & What's Next

    TL;DR:

    • We launched a YouTube channel with tutorials
    • New Prop Generator creates game assets with AI
    • Developer Console & ES6 module support for better debugging
    • Launching end of January / early February
    • Subscription details coming soon

    We're on YouTube!

We've officially launched our YouTube channel! Head over to @makkoai and subscribe to stay in the loop.

We're building out a tutorial series right now covering everything from getting started with AI Studio to advanced sprite animation techniques. Whether you're brand new to game development or looking to level up your workflow, we've got content coming for you.

Subscribe and hit the bell so you don't miss new tutorials as they drop.

    Prop Generator

This is a big one for bringing your game worlds to life. Props are the objects that populate your games: platforms, obstacles, coins, decorations, and everything in between.

    What's new:

    • AI generation: Describe what you need and get multiple concept options to choose from
    • Automatic background removal: Clean, transparent sprites ready to drop into your game
    • Asset Library integration: Browse your props alongside characters and backgrounds
    • New Quick Action: "Add Prop" lets you place props with one click, choosing from 5 collision types (solid, platform, hazard, collectible, decoration)

No more drawing every rock, coin, and treasure chest yourself. Describe it, generate it, and get building.

    New Feature Updates

We've shipped a lot since our last update. Here's everything else that's new:

    Background Generator Enhancements

    • 7 perspective options: Side-scroller, top-down, isometric, three-quarter view, and more
    • Tiling preview: See 3 copies side-by-side to verify seamless edges before saving

    Developer Console

The error panel got a major upgrade:

    • Tabbed interface: Switch between Errors and Logs tabs
    • Console.log capture: Your game's log output now shows up in the console
    • Search filtering: Find what you need in long debug sessions

    ES6 Module Support

Games now compile with modern JavaScript:

    • Import/export syntax: Organize your code with ES6 modules
    • Better error mapping: Runtime errors point to your original source lines, not compiled output

    AI Improvements

    • GLM 4.7 is now default: Promoted after strong beta performance
    • DeepSeek V3.2 (Beta): New model option to try out
    • Mermaid diagrams: AI can render flowcharts and diagrams directly in chat
    • Smarter retries: When errors occur, the AI preserves successful work instead of starting over

    Quality of Life

    • Resizable chat input: Drag to expand for longer prompts
    • GitHub reconnection: When your token expires, a helpful popup prompts you to reconnect
    • Add Background Quick Action: Select a background, describe the context, toggle horizontal tiling

    Road to Launch

We're in the home stretch. Here's what's happening:

    Right now, we're focused on:

    1. Squashing bugs
    2. Building the subscription system

Timeline: We're aiming for end of January / early February to move out of beta.

Subscriptions: Details on pricing and plans will be released soon. We know this is important to you, and we're working hard to make it fair and accessible.

After launch: Beta ending doesn't mean we're done building. We'll continue shipping improvements, new features, and responding to your feedback.

We Want to Hear From You

Before we flip the switch to paid subscriptions, we want to make sure we're building something worth paying for. If there's something missing, something broken, or something you'd love to see, now is the time to tell us.

Reach out at support@makko.ai with any concerns, feature requests, or feedback.

Thank you for being part of this journey. We couldn't have gotten this far without the community testing, breaking things, and pushing us to make Makko better.

See you on YouTube, and see you at launch.
